Spiced Date Porridge


A simple porridge recipe full of anti-inflammatory and digestion enhancing spices. Dates are a great blood building addition which bring natural sweetness. The perfect comforting winter breakfast.

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (GF if necessary)

  • 2 cups water or milk of choice

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 large or 2 small dates finely chopped

Directions

Add all of the ingredients to a pan. Heat until simmering and then lower the heat and gently simmer, stirring occasionally until thick and creamy (Around 10 minutes). Top with toasted seeds and coconut, flaked almonds and your favourite nut butter.
